FAA Updating the Drone Laws
On April 19th, the first part of the new 500 page drone ruling will come into effect. One of the updated rules will allow Part 107 remote pilots to conduct routine night operations. To be eligible, licensed pilots must take the updated online training as well as have a anti collision beacon mounted on the UAS that is visible up to 3 statute miles.
This updated ruling will allow UAS operators more flexibility in their operations and deliverables to their clients. Prior to this new rule UAS operators would have to submit what is known as a “daylight operation waiver” to the FAA, which could take up to 6 months to approve. This update will save operators and clients time and money.
